CreditBase publishes its directory of startup credits, software perks, grants, accelerators and government schemes as a free, read-only JSON API, so you can search it from code, a script or an AI agent. There is nothing to sign up for.

Quickstart

Find programs a company in India can claim that mention GPUs:

Endpoints

• GET /v1/programs: search. Filters: q (words, all must match), country (ISO code or GLOBAL), type (credits, discount, grant, govt, accelerator), category, audience (founders, students, makers), plus limit (1 to 100, default 20) and offset for paging. Largest value first.
• GET /v1/programs/{id}: one program: value, who qualifies, where it is available, the provider's apply link and when it was last checked.
• GET /v1/facets: the types, categories, audiences and country codes with how many programs each holds, and the data's last update.

Every response is JSON with CORS enabled (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *), so it also works from a browser. Errors look like {"error": {"code": "invalid_parameter", "message": "..."}} with status 400 or 404.

Authentication and permissions

None. Every endpoint is public and read-only: there are no API keys, OAuth flows or scopes, and no endpoint changes anything. The OpenAPI file declares this with an empty security list. Account features such as Scout and the application tracker are part of the website, are not part of this API and need a signed-in account in a browser.

Rate limits

Requests are limited per IP address. When you go over, the reply is 429 with a Retry-After header in seconds. For bulk reads, page with limit=100 and offset, and cache the result: the data changes weekly, and each response says when it was last updated (updated_at).

OpenAPI spec and function calling

• OpenAPI 3.1 spec: every operation has a unique operationId (searchPrograms, getProgram, getFacets), a description, typed parameters and response schemas. It is also listed in /.well-known/api-catalog (RFC 9727).
• Function-calling tools: the same three operations as ready-made tool definitions in the Anthropic (input_schema) and OpenAI (parameters) formats. Pass the tools to your model, then call the endpoint named in endpoints with the arguments it chooses.

Pages for AI agents

Most pages also return Markdown at their own URL when you send Accept: text/markdown, which is easier for a language model to read than HTML:

Sandbox

The API is read-only and public, so there is nothing to break and no separate test environment: use the production address above.

Terms of use

Use of the data is welcome; link back to the program's page (page_url) when you show it. Values are up-to amounts and terms change, so send people to apply_url, the provider's own page, to confirm. Records with an attribution field are adapted from a CC BY 4.0 source and must be credited as stated. See the terms, the FAQ and the contact page for corrections or higher limits.
